The chart provides a summary of the number and types of books bought by men and women and four different age groups in the UK.

The percentage of women buying fiction is 30 percent higher than that of men.

And it can also be noticed that the older an individual is, the better he or she likes fiction.

The percentage of men buying non-fiction is only slightly higher that that of women.

But the figure of people older than 45 who buy non-fiction is significantly higher than the number of 25 to 34 age group.

However, there’s no obvious difference of buying non-fiction between 25 to 34 age group and 35 to 44 age group.

Generally speaking, our relationship with nature can be classified into three phases.

At the first stage, we can do nothing but adapt the changes of nature, like the day and night and four seasons. On the early stage of human history, our ancestors chose to live in cave in order to find protection from the severe weather. Depending on the change of weather, they have to change their daily routine. For example, they had to go out for hunting in a sunny day and hide under the shelter in a rainy or snowy day.

But nowadays, with the rapid advancement of science and technology, we step into the second phase. We can do anything free from the influence of weather. We are now able to create artificial rain which is important for farmers in the dry season, and air conditioners sweep away the heat in hot summer.

However, we can’t neglect that all of these improvements also cause damage to nature. Hence, we try to step into the third phase — saving the earth. We should never forget to live as part of nature, which means protecting the environment is also good for ourselves.
